Alumni Foundations

A number of 1818 Society members have created charitable foundations to promote activities such as scholarship programs and community development, both in the Washington, DC area and around the world.  We would like to catalogue these non-profit public charities (known as 501c3 organizations, referring to their tax-exempt status under the US Internal Revenue Code).  The objective would be to encourage and guide other Alumni in creating their own foundations, and to encourage all Alumni to consider these organizations in their charitable giving.

If you have established a 501c3 organization, please add it to the catalogue we have created here.  A small group of advisors, including Dan Ritchie, Inder Sud and Michael Gould, would be happy to provide guidance on creating and managing a charitable foundation.
