  1. Join the World Bank’s Community Connections Campaign!

In the December 2009 issue of the 1818 Society Bulletin, we highlighted the World Bank Group’s annual Community Connections Campaign. This Campaign raises funds for nearly 300 nonprofit charities in the Washington metropolitan area and the charities that you designate for your donation will get an added benefit of receiving a matching corporate contribution from the World Bank Group. 1/

Here is how you can make this happen:

    1. Choose your favorite charities to which to designate your donation; you can select up to 10 charities from the list of eligible Campaign charities provided on the 1818 Society Website. You can also designate a portion or your entire donation to the World Bank Community Connections Fund (WBCCF).

    2. Make your Campaign pledge using the Consultant/Contractor/Retiree Pledge Form, a link is posted on the 1818 Society Website (http://www.worldbank.org/1818/). Or, you can complete the Retirees Donation Form that is included in the December 2009 issue of the 1818 Society Bulletin.

    3. Pay your pledge by check, made payable to “World Bank Community Connections Fund,” or simply “WBCCF.” 2/ Please mail your check and your Donation Form not later than December 31, 2009 to the following address:

    Ms. Kris Zedler,
    World Bank Community Outreach,
    1818 H Street, NW, MSN I-3-306,
    Washington, DC 20433

The 1818 Society and the World Bank’s Community Outreach team thanks you in advance for your generosity and support of the FY10 Community Connections Campaign!

1/ If the Campaign achieves at least 45% staff participation on the online pledging system known as EGive, the Bank Group will provide a 100% corporate match for all contributions to the Campaign, including donations from retirees. If the 45% target is not reached, the Bank Group still offers a generous 50% corporate match, so retirees will regardless leverage their donations to their favorite charities by participating in the Campaign.

2/ If you have any questions about the Campaign, please contact Ms. Kris Zedler, kzedler@worldbank.org, (office) 202-473-1487, (cell) 301-785-0491.
