Exemplifying innovation, creativity and technical merit, each of the 120 exhibitors reflects the story of contemporary American craft in 12 categories, including ceramics, furniture, glass, jewelry, wearable art and wood. 55 exhibitors are in the Show for the first-time and represent emerging talent in American craftsmanship.
Wednesday, April 13 is the Preview Night Benefit: Cocktail Buffet, Music by Ensemble L’Enfant, First Choice Shopping.

I would also like to mention an event taking place on May 6 at 8.00 p.m. at the Spectrum Theatre at Artisphere in Rosslyn, Va (just over Key Bridge from Georgetown). Tenor Carl Tanner (who is from Northern Virginia) is giving a recital, with proceeds going to support the newly-formed Aurora Opera Company of Arlington. Although this would not necessarily be a group activity, I think some of our members might be interested in going. It’s a great way to hear a world-renowned tenor (he last sang at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in December) without Kennedy Center Opera prices. More information or tickets can be found by calling 703-379-1433 or at http://www.auroraopera.org.
In the interest of full disclosure, I must tell you that my daughter-in-law is the General Director of the Aurora Opera Company(!)
